Spanish Clothing and Shopping for Clothes
Shopping for clothes while traveling — or just describing what someone is wearing — needs its own vocabulary set. This lesson covers clothing items, accessories, and fitting-room phrases.
1. Clothing items Spanish English la camisa shirt los pantalones pants el vestido dress la falda skirt los zapatos shoes el abrigo coat la chaqueta jacket el sombrero hat
2. Accessories Spanish English el cinturón belt la bufanda scarf los guantes gloves las gafas glasses el bolso handbag
3. Trying things on Spanish English ¿Puedo probármelo? Can I try it on? ¿Tiene una talla más grande? Do you have a bigger size? Me queda bien. It fits me well. Me queda pequeño. It's too small on me.
Good to know
Putting clothes on and taking them off are reflexive in Spanish: "Me pongo el abrigo" (I put on my coat), "Me quito los zapatos" (I take off my shoes).
