Cookie Policy
This page explains the cookies and browser storage The Spanish Blitz uses, what each kind is for, and how to control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers personal data more broadly.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small file a site asks your browser to store and send back on later visits. Sites also use related browser storage — localStorage and sessionStorage — which works similarly but is read only by the page itself. Where this policy says "cookies" it means both.
Strictly necessary
These keep the site working and cannot be switched off from within the site. They hold your signed-in session so you are not logged out between pages, and remember basic preferences such as your chosen theme and avatar. They are set by The Spanish Blitz, are not used for advertising, and are not shared with anyone.
Advertising cookies
On the Free plan the site shows advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may set cookies to measure ad performance, limit how often you see the same ad, detect invalid clicks, and — where permitted — personalise the ads you see based on your previous visits to this and other sites.
These cookies are set by Google, not by us, and we do not have access to what they contain. Members on a paid plan do not see ads.
What we do not use
We do not run Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, a Meta Pixel, or any other third-party analytics or social tracking on this site. Advertising is the only third-party cookie category present.
Payment processing
When you open a checkout, Stripe may set cookies needed to process the payment securely and to detect fraud. These are handled by Stripe under its own policies.
Controlling cookies
Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop you being able to sign in, so most browsers are best set to block third-party cookies rather than all cookies.
- Personalised advertising can be turned off for your Google account at google.com/settings/ads.
- Vendor-by-vendor advertising opt-outs are available at aboutads.info/choices and youronlinechoices.eu.
- Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings, including blocking third-party cookies specifically.
- Taking a paid membership removes advertising, and with it the advertising cookies, from the site.

If we add or remove a cookie category we will update this page and change the "last updated" date above.
